Adam Levine

Adam Levine has been speaking openly about rumours that the X-factor in the USA has allegedly asked it`s contestants not to either be "openly gay or talk about it if they are"? WTF!!So Adam who has repeatedly been asked about his own sexuality and has a Gay brother himself had to speak out;

“What’s always pissed me off about Idol is wanting to mask [a contestant's sexuality], for that to go unspoken,” Levine said. “C’mon. You can’t be publicly gay? At this point? On a singing competition? Give me a break. You can’t hide basic components of these people’s lives. The fact that The Voice didn’t have any qualms about being completely open about it is a great thing.”

Besides talking about why his hit show is better than the competition, the Grammy-winning Maroon 5 crooner recently opened up to Out magazine about questions about his own sexuality and his gay brother.

“There’s no way to hide my straightness,” he told Out, “but if people didn’t think there was a small chance I was gay, then I wouldn’t be doing my job very well… I wouldn’t be the front man of a band if that question hadn’t come up at some point.”

The “Moves Like Jagger” performer, who was raised to be open-minded, also told the magazine that he “can single-handedly dispel any ideas that sexuality is acquired” and how important it is for parents to support their gay children.

“Trust me, you’re born with it,” Levine said. “My brother is gay, and we knew when he was two. We all knew. We all really wanted to provide some cushion for him and constantly let him know that it’s OK.”

Currently, Levine is touring with Maroon 5. He will begin working on the second season of The Voice, which will air in February, this fall
