Glee Season 3 so far
Last night, our favorite gaggle of misfit musicians returned to us in the season premiere of Glee. While a few fan favorite faces were missing, from the way things kicked off, we have a feeling Ryan Murphy wasn’t lying when he promised the show would be “getting back to basics.” We were not disappointed.
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD! IF GLEE IS STILL ON YOUR DVR, SCROLL AWAY!
By now, the world is aware that this is many of the kids’ senior years. Revealed to be juniors were former lovers Tina and Artie. The rest of the gang are grilled by the school’s resident gossipmonger, Jacob Ben-Israel, about their futures. Rachel and Kurt are hell bent on the Great White Way, Finn remains undecided and Santana wants to be Paula Abdul. Can’t say we blame her.
But while no one is quite sure where their futures lie, the kids all agree that losing Nationals was a pretty hefty blow. In a creative twist to lure in new members (and maybe work out some sexual frustration), Mr. Schue, who is now living with Emma, launches the Purple Piano Project. He has some of Liberace’s ivories scattered around the school, in hopes that kids will get inspired to join Glee. When the New Directions perform a Go-Go’s classic to drum up some interest at lunch, they’re rewarded with spaghetti in their hair and less self-esteem than before. So, that didn’t work out.
Course, they wouldn’t have to con others to join the group if Kurt’s BF Blaine would just transfer to McKinley and Quinn would stop acting like a “skank”, which coincidently is the name of her new group of friends. Think of them as like the Pink Ladies – except they’re dirtier and Rizzo actually did get knocked up . Quinn’s got some soul searching to do, but considering her creeper appearance in the shadows while the group performed a Hairspray number, we don’t think she will be gone for long. Oh, by the way, Blaine does transfer to McKinley before the episode is out. And girl, when Darren Criss started singing It’s Not Unusual, our loins were as flaming as that damn piano! HOT DAMN! Move over Tom-Tom Girls, the Crissy Cats are here!
As we mentioned, Kurt and Rachel want to scurry off to live every theater kid’s dream in New York City. Since Glee’s writing team actually pays attention and knows Julliard doesn’t have a musical theater program, Hummelberry is pointed in the direction of a more, shall we say, “fictional school” that is rated the top performing arts college in the country. They decide to scope out the competition at a mixer for prospective students, but instead, they are bombarded by a group of thespians, led by Glee Project runner-up Lindsay Pearce, who have no intention of letting McKinely’s finest steal their spotlight. With one two-minute mash-up of Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better, Rachel and Kurt are crushed. But like true divas, they pick each other up and vow to keep going strong. Kurt’s speech to Rachel was one of our favorite moments of the episode. You make us want to be your boyfriend too Kurt - because then we could have a ménage à trois with Blaine! LOL!
As we mentioned previously, Santana gets thrown out of the club when it’s clear she is still willing to sabotage the group in the name of Sue Sylvester. Speaking of which, Sue is out to get rid of all public art school programs as part of her Congressional campaign. She’s got some legwork ahead of her, but her scheming was just as delicious as always. We’d also be remiss if we didn't mention our love for Sugar Motta and her “self-diagnosed” aspergers. Now THAT is a scene stealer!
Overall, we give this episode 10 gay-high fives! The music was perfect, the cast was on their game and for an hour, we forgot all our woes and worries and just reveled in the joy of Glee… and Darren’s face.

Coldplay tour dates
Coldplay have announced plans to perform a handful of arena tour dates later this year.
The band will play three dates in December following the release of their fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto on October 24.
Coldplay will appear at Glasgow's SECC on December 3 and Manchester's MEN the following night on December 4.
They will then conclude the trio of shows at London's O2 Arena on December 9. Tickets for the gigs will go on sale on September 23 at 9.30am.

Sinead O'Connor
Is Sinead O'Connor ** suicidal, or just desperate for attention?
The Irish singer punched out dozens of tweets on Wednesday, begging her followers for ideas on how she could take her own life without hurting her children.
"Had to go psychiatrist for routine renew prescription etc. She says I'm a bad mum and mental for talking so openly about sex in public," the Nothing Compares 2 U singer wrote.
"So now I wish suicide wud kill me."
O'Connor, 44, regularly turns to her Twitter account to express all sorts of bizarre thoughts -- last month writing about how sexually deprived she is, but talking suicide takes things to a new level and has people close to her worried.
"I want to go To heaven SO bad. Have for yrs. But I don't wanna abandon my kids. But if I cud die without them knowing I did it myself I wud," O'Connor continued.
"If any1 knows how I can kill myself Without my kids finding out I did it deliberately pls tell me asa f**kin p."
Glee scoop!!
What?! Our dissertation on the premiere episode of Glee wasn't enough for you? You want to know MORE about what's to come? Sorry to disappoint you, but we're fresh out of SPOILERS, but we can talk a bit more about what Ryan Murphy had to say about the Glee Project winners joining the show. How does that sound? Great, let's do this!
As we previously reported - SPOILER ALERT - the premiere episode featured one the finalists in a very amusing way. Lindsay Pearce made a surprise appearance in the episode as the leader of a rival show choir and her number was so show-stopping, Lea Michele's Rachel Berry ended up having an existential crisis in the parking lot. There was rain and tears and drama. It was magical.
What is so interesting about this scene though is that it was shot even before The Glee Project finalists were announced. Ryan explained:
"I wrote the part before we even met Lindsay … It was a little weird because we were shooting it before the final episode of The Glee Project aired, so we built that big conference hotel set on the stage and sort of cloaked her under a blanket — not actually, but we were nervous about that getting out. So we kept delaying it. Once we thought of that, I made the number bigger."
Bigger AND better. Seriously, wait till you see this girl in action. She wasn't one of our faves on the TGP, but she definitely made a lasting impression on her first time out. We're looking forward to seeing her again at Sectionals, which Ryan revealed will be her second episode.
As we mentioned before, also joining the show during competition time will be Alex Newell who "will also be used sort of like Lindsay," heading up a show choir competing against the New Directions.
Of course, getting more focus will be the show's actual winners, Damian McGinty and Sam Larsen. Both boys will be getting major arcs, which Ryan teased during the screen. For Damian, Ryan shared some story and some praise, saying:
"Damian comes in episode four, which Adam Shankman is directing, which we're shooting right now. He is a foreign exchange student who is shacking up with Brittany and she of course believes he is to be a leprechaun with magical powers … On his first day, he was shoved into a locker 25 times, but without saying what the song is — his first take in his first song, the crew gave him a huge ovation. He did great with the acting."
Ryan added that Damian will in fact be a sophomore, just as the original cast was when they joined the show, so its likely we'll have this Irish laddy around for two more years. As for Sam, as we mentioned that he'll be coming to the show later in the game, probably closer to the spring. And yes, he will be a "relative of Puck's", but we're not sure yet how closely related.

Sex and the city confirmed! Sort of.....
After many back and forth conversations concerning the next step in the Carrie Bradshaw saga, it is official!
The next step is actually one (or two…or thirty) BACK! Back into a time before she could afford all those Jimmy Choos.
The CW has picked up Candace Bushnell's The Carrie Diaries to show audiences what it was like for Carrie during her senior year of high school.
It is also reported that Gossip Girl producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are planning to co-pilot the project.
Ahhh, so is this how Blake Lively will segue from one CW project to the next? After all, Josh has what…6, 7 shows on the air right now? We wouldn't be surprised if he ends Gossip Girl in a year or two right in time for this prequel series to start.
And why didn't HBO want to take this for themselves? Hmm, maybe because the original show's head writer, Michael Patrick King, finds it a bit blasphemous? After all, he did say, "For me the idea of going backward and making her less evolved is something I don't even imagine doing."
Also, it would probably work better on The CW anyways. It brings in a whole new generation of SatC fans, and honestly, how much uncensored sex could teenage Carrie have had anyways? It's not Samantha Jones!!!
Rihanna to appear on Coldplays new album
Chris Martin has revealed that Rihanna will feature on Coldplay's upcoming album Mylo Xyloto.
The frontman explained that the 'S&M' popstar has lent her vocals to new song 'Princess of China' for the band's fifth studio LP, which comes out on October 24.
"She has such an amazing voice and it's so different to mine," Martin told The Sun.
"When the vocal happened I thought 'Wow, you sound different' but I think that's also because she was singing a different song to what we are used to hearing from her and it is written by a bloke from Devon."
Martin also recalled the moment when he asked the Bajan singer whether she would be up for the collaboration, admitting that he was initially nervous about approaching the star.

Britney to release new mix album
Britney Spears will release a new remix album, it has been announced.
B In The Mix: The Remixes Vol. 2 is due out on October 11 and will feature reworkings of tracks from her three most recent studio albums - Blackout, Circus and Femme Fatale - as well as The Singles Collection.
Revealing the news on Twitter, Spears wrote: "Exciting news people… new remix album is coming out on 10/11! Pumped for you to hear these tracks - I love them - Brit."
The record includes remixes of hits such as 'Gimme More' and 'Womanizer', as well as the Varsity Team Remix of her latest single 'Criminal'.
Ellen Degeneres new "comedy pilot"
NBC has picked up a new comedy project from Ellen DeGeneres's production company, which will star the talkshow host's wife Portia de Rossi.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has ordered a pilot episode of the untitled project, which follows the lives of two warring sisters.
The show will mark de Rossi's first television project since the cancellation of Better off Ted in May last year.
De Rossi is best known for her role as Lindsay Bluth Fünke on the popular Fox sitcom Arrested Development.
The project is being penned by Samantha Who writer Don Todd, and DeGeneres will serve as executive producer.

Tinchy Stryder tour dates
The tour will start at Liverpool's Academy 2 on November 9, moving on to Manchester's Club Academy on November 10.
The 'Spaceship' star will then play Nottingham's Rescue Rooms on November 11 and Norwich's Waterfront on November 12.
He will conclude the five-date tour at London's Scala on November 13.
Tickets for the gigs will go on sale on Friday.
iPhone 5 soon to be released
According to reports, employees at the Best Buy consumer electronics chain have been briefed that pre-orders for the iPhone 5 will begin this week in readiness for a release in the first week of October.
Apple has not yet announced a press event for the new phone, but the retail chain revealed the launch window in a memo to selected employees, says the BGR website.
Other reports have indicated that the iPhone 5 is going into production in China this week, which would dovetail with the timescale revealed by Best Buy.
There has been fervent speculation on the internet about the potential new features of the iPhone 5, of which a prototype was reportedly lost by an Apple employee in a bar.
Among the speculated features is a teardrop design similar to the new iPod Touch, being thicker at the top and thinner at the bottom. The handset also may have an aluminium metal backing rather than the current glass back piece.

Madonna comments on Lady Gaga
Some fans are called Little Monsters and some fans are called "obsessive" and it looks like Madonna thinks Lady Gaga falls into the latter category.
Answering questions at the Venice Film Festival about her criticially panned film W.E. a reporter asked Madge about fans admiring her, including Lady Gaga, and the superstar doesn't seem flattered by the attention.
According to LeSoir the Material Girl curtly replied: "As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment on her obsessions related to me, because I do not know if it is based on something profound or superficial."
Controversy swarmed around the two women when Lady Gaga released her newest album with the song Born This Way that many remarked sounded incredibly similar to Madonna's hit Express Yourself.

Simon West will be directing the actors in the sequel to the action superhero film, according to Deadline.

The two action stars appeared briefly in the first film, which was directed by Stallone.

Red or Back
Simon Cowell was reportedly livid after ITV and Syco decided that they had no choice but to pay Red or Black? millionaire Nathan Hageman his prize money.
The bricklayer scooped the top prize during the first live show over the weekend. Shortly after his win, Cowell made an on-stage appearance to congratulate him.
However, it was then reported that Hageman had served a two-and-a-half-year conviction for ABH. While he had informed the broadcaster of his time in prison, he allegedly led them to believe that his victim was a man. It was yesterday revealed that it had actually been his ex-girlfriend Amy Edwards.
"I'm desperate for this to be sorted out as soon as possible in the fairest possible way," The Mirror quotes Cowell as saying. "I am doing everything in my power to bring that about so that people can get back to concentrating on the show."

Once this is done, my service provider would be happy to issue you
with my current living address. Thereby allowing you to issue me with a court summons. As for the 'Fake Accounts' remark you've been behind enough yourself. Haven't you, Michael? *Cough* Gwyn *Cough* - Or was it Gretchen? Hmm.. Either way, it's pure hypocrisy. Don't you think?

FIRST CLAIM: So you and Peter didn't know about Claire's affair with Carl? That's very funny indeed considering you were both hiding it from @TheNevCan - @MrPeterAndre admitted it himself to his ex girlfriend Maddy Ford. She told me herself. I think we all know who to believe taking into consideration @MrPeterAndredenying his involvement with her whatsoever and then finally admitting they had a relationship after he failed to get an injunction against her in the press. Wouldn't you agree? Okay, SECOND CLAIM: You hired somebody to make a fake account under the name of 'Gwyn Cipron' who you were ultimately behind. In order to get information out of me and track my IP address.. You also used fake photographs of 'your enjoyable holiday' - one of them including an innocent child who was not aware of the situation whatsoever. Then claimed 'He was your son' or Gwyn's rather.. Did you think about implicating him in your sick ploy? THIRD CLAIM: You sent me a faux fax of prostitute details in order to entrap me upon posting the information - I shall use the words used by your investigators which you payed to do your dirty work.. 'Upon clicking on the link of the fax, we were able to obtain your details..' That most certainly turned out to be a double bluff. I then received a message saying that the fax was completely fabricated. Which sort of turned out to be a double bluff (for you atleast) as I was then informed of your involvement with Charlie Monnaco - Who you quite clearly admitted to @NicolaRoccox you had a 'thing with' her. She shows up on several punter/escort websites. So that doesn't exactly ring true to your claims 'I have never slept with a prostitute' does it? FOURTH CLAIM: You have been sending threatening text messages to NR - making statements such as 'I will ruin your life' I have seen them for myself. And can back up 100% what @NicolaRoccox says to be true. You have also created a completely fabricated report to the police regarding her 'harassing you' - as she hasn't bothered to even speak to you for 3 months. FOURTH CLAIM: Your brother promised to help an ill child - A friend of Barbara's was it not? Gillian's mother? - He then made false promises to the child. Yet once back in Gillian and Gemma's good-books - Changed his number so he wouldn't have to follow through. He let a poorly child down with his selfish intentions. I would suggest asking him but it's obvious that you already know all about it. Funny that, eh? During a recent interview in Venice, while promoting her foray into directing, W.E., Madonna spilled some deets on her upcoming album, and revealed that its lead single will be released in early 2012!
She reveals:
I'm not sure but the first single will be released in February or March.
